Prestigious Appreciation “Golden Greyhound 2006”  

On the eve of the presentation of the golden Oscars in Los Angeles, golden statuettes were  presented also in Prague.

However, it concerned golden statuettes of greyhounds which received the owners of the fastest and most beautiful greyhounds in the Czech Republic.

The presentation of the appreciation “Golden Greyhound 2006”, we can say greyhound‘s “Oscars” for quickness and beauty was organized by the Czech Greyhound Racing Federation, member of the World Greyhound Racing Federation.  

And as there were present real greyhound celebrities, the Federation had organized this festive presentation ceremony with a splendid rout at the noble premises of the Hotel Esplanade Prague in the presence of media people, photographers, and celebrities.

The prizes for the fastest greyhounds were given by the noted singer Ms Heidi Janků – patron of the greyhound races at the racing stadium “Czech Greyhound Track Praskacka” – and the prizes for the most beautiful greyhounds were given by the noted artist  Mr František Ringo Čech.

And who has received the prestigious appreciation “Golden Greyhound 2006”?

Following greyhounds are titleholders in the area of racing:  “Golden Greyhound – Racing 2006” in the under-mentioned categories:

Winner on the track 300 m – greyhound-dog Dalton Co Co,  owner Ms Gabriela Melkusová

Winner on the track 525 m – greyhound-dog Druppi  Co Co, owner Mr Václav Plaček

Winner on the track 740 m – greyhound-dog Druppi Co Co, owner Mr Václav Plaček

Winner on the track 300 m, 525 m – female dog Dorothy Co Co, owner Ms Marcela Linková   

This prestigious racing prize is connected with a possibility to receive a grant in the amount of 20,000.00 EUR.

Following greyhounds are titleholder in the area of beauty: “Golden Greyhound – Design 2006” in the under-mentioned categories:

Puppy Greyhound – greyhound dog Varez Cooliskas, owner Ms Barbara Bochenek    

Lady Greyhound – greyhound female dog, Iasminka Argument, owner Mr Petr Karel

Sir Greyhound – greyhound dog, Cartney Joe Jumping Jet, owner Ms Milada Sedláčková

Gold Veteran Greyhound – greyhound female dog, Barbarella Sunset, owner Ms Blanka Dobřichovská

TOP Design Greyhound (Audience Prize) – greyhound dog, Aldo z Měňan, owner Czech International, a.s.  

This appreciation of the greyhound beauty is connected with a financial grant in the amount of 20,000.00 EUR.  

Both present celebrities, Heidi and Ringo, have in their repertoire several songs concerning greyhound racing which were rendered during the evening under simultaneous projection of shots from racing.

Mr F. Ringo Čech, author of song texts about greyhounds, did not forgive – with his sense of humour – a practical joke and gave all greyhound owners/trainers who received a prize his newest calendar 2007 intended for the rich people where no weekdays are included but only holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

In the Czech Republic, greyhound races take place on principle on Saturday and Sunday – and it is always a great feast for all participants, he added. So, it was really pertinent gift from Mr F. R. Čech.
