Mrs. Jan Wilson received a "Member of the Order of Australia Medal" |

Mrs. Wilson has been involved in
many executive, marketing and promotion functions in the greyhound
racing industry. Besides the chairmanship of the World Greyhound
Racing Federation, Mrs. Jan Wilson has been the chairwoman of the
Greyhound Racing Victoria (an organization that associates greyhound
race tracks of Victoria - an australian state) for 9 years,
she has been heavily involved in promoting australian adoption program – Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) and Prison Pet
Partnership (PPP) in Victoria. Thanks to the effort of Mrs. Jan Wilson, more than 3000 retired greyhounds have been adopted as pets in Victoria over the past decade. |

Prison Pet Partnership is a unique program, that involves inmates from the minimum security Dhurringile prison, a prison in the north of Victoria, in the GAP adoption program. This prison plays the key role last three years because the Dhurringile inmates prepare retired greyhounds for life as pets. |
|
For her diligence and devotion Mrs. Jan Wilson is considered to be a living legend and as a moral example for everyone that is involved in greyhound industry and animal welfare in general. In despite of her high repute she remains very unpresumptuous. „I've met some wonderful people in the industry and we really work as a team. I treat it as an award to the whole industry, I just had the honour and privilege of being chair for the past nine years“ commented Mrs. Wilson her well-deserved success.
This reward, and no
doubt that Mrs. Jan Wilson deserves it very much, falls within the most
prominent awards that only a very limited number of persons can reach -
the respectability of this medal is comparable to the czech order of the
White Lion and is also handed over by the chief political representative
of the country. |

As we have informed, Mrs. Jan Wilson - the president of the World Greyhound Racing Federation, whose member is also the Czech Greyhound Racing Federation, received the title of the "Member of the Order of Australia Medal". The presentation of her recent award will take place on 3rd September in the seat of the australian Governor-General in the Government House, Canberra. Mrs. Wilson will be officially awarded by the present Governor-General Her Excellency Ms Ms Quentin Bryce AC. Click HERE . |
