Greyhound "Oscars" and works of art - greyhounds

Prague, Feb 16th 2010 (PROTEXT) At the first weekend of February, names like Dior and   Chanel could be heard in one of the most luxurious  Prague hotels, however it was not any presentation of  famous fashion brands.  The most beautiful greyhounds, winners of greyhound "Oscars", were awarded in the Hotel Esplanade Prague. As usual Heidi Janku was a moderator of the event.  Famous czech artists, members of the Scuderia Boys club and also the president of the Czech Greyhound Racing Federation, Mr. Zdenek Grondol, came to congratulate to the most beautiful greyhounds and their owners. „Greyhounds are works of the nature“, claimed the CGRF president few years ago. Perhaps that was the reason why the exhibition category of the Golden Greyhound contest was named „Design“.  The audience chose a greyhound pup, called Galrea Chanel, as the most beautiful greyhound and Chanel was awarded with the title Golden Greyhound – Winner in the TOP Design category.  „Little Chanel“ comes from Ireland and Mrs. Ladislava Jurkova is her owner. Chanel is also famous, along with another greyhound pup „Little Dior“, because Heidi Janku became her „godmother“.

Chanel and Dior owners hold a dignified Princess party in order to celebrate the two greyhound princesses.

The art jury decided that the most beautiful greyhound in the „Golden Puppy“ category was a greyhound called „Stormy Cassandra“ who managed to win in this category for the second time and thus she was awarded with the title of the Golden Greyhound – Master of Design.

Other greyhound awarded as the most beautiful greyhounds, in particular categories, were: Flash Co Co – dog, Sjudraget Cosalina – a bitch and Andy z Menan was chosen as the most beautiful senior.

Heidi Janku, the moderator of the show, said during the presentation of this greyhound: „I have a note here that Andy is almost nine years old but he is very smart, he can jump like a youngster and he s able to jump over a fence - 4 meters tall“.

Indeed, Andy deserved huge ovations from the present audience. Mrs. Ladislava Jurkova, the owner of Andy, was smiling a lot she said to one of the present reporters „He is like a hoat. Perhaps it is due to the quality feed but there are other factors, e.g. good genetic potency.

Each year the most beautiful greyhound, both from the Czech Republic and foreign countries, receive statues of golden greyhounds that are connected with the title „Golden Greyhound – Design“.
Greyhounds receive points from the art jury but also the audience choose the most beautiful greyhound at the „1st Liberated Greyhound Exhibition“ that takes place annually at the Praskacka race track.
The name of the exhibition ???napovídat that this exhibition is liberated from usual criterias of greyhound beauty evaluation.

The art jury consists of czech artists who award the exhibition wnners with statues of golden greyhounds. Petr Novotny, Fr. Ringo Cech, Heidi Janků, Leszek Wronka and other artist – actors, singers, models etc are our kind guests and members of the art jury.

The Czech Greyhound Racing Federation (www.cgdf.cz) is the organizer of the Golden Greyhound contest and also the organizer, in association with the Greyhound Company, Inc., of the ceremonial Golden Greyhound awards
